Club night reboot: Wed February 9 2022 – or so we thought.

Oh dear, it’s been hard to learn any new songs during lockdowns and traffic lights. Without a looming public performance somehow the dust settles on the instruments and the song book conceals itself under the pile of Jack Reacher books, which itself is under the breakfast plate with the crusts on it.

But now it is time to straighten up and fly right. No more wallowing in Covid self pity. Or so we thought.

Then Red came along. So all bets are off until we go orange again. Kiwigrass has gone the same way. None of us want to appear on that dreaded place of interest list.

The plan is that under the orange traffic light we are good to go and we will reboot with a few club nights to get ourselves going again.

Under orange you will need to bring your vaccine pass, and scan or sign in. Social distancing and mask wearing is encouraged, and much like cafes, workers (paid and non-paid) at gatherings, excluding performers, must wear masks. Hand washing and sensible hygiene is just as important as it always was so don’t lick your finger and stick it in the sugar no matter how hungry you are. If you took a plain biscuit then you see the chocolate biscuits – too late, you must eat it.

Club nights are a lot of fun, and if you don’t have a band, don’t worry, there’ll be lots of musicians on hand to help, which makes it a lot of fun. If we have time there’ll be a no-pressure jam at the end.
